Stolen vehicle
A 1987 red and black Yanmar front loader was stolen from a field near Holsclaw Road and Highway 152, between 12 p.m. April 23 and 12:30 p.m. Friday.
A 2001 burgundy GMC Yukon was stolen from the 2200 block of Cochrane Road in Morgan Hill, between 1 and 8 a.m. April 20. The vehicle was later found abandoned and vandalized in a cherry orchard.
Petty theft
A backpack and books worth $170 were stolen from an unlocked 2006 blue Chevrolet truck near New and Leavesley avenues, between 7:30 p.m. April 23 and 7:45 a.m. Friday.
Auto burglary
A fanny pack containing keys, a GPS unit, a cell phone and an iPod were stolen from a locked 2005 blue Ford Escape on the 2100 block of Giampaoli Drive in San Martin, between 2 and 6 a.m. Friday. The driver’s side window was broken.
Residential burglary
About $2,800 worth of property and several ATM cards were stolen from four vehicles parked on the 1500 block of Sterling Oaks Court in Morgan Hill. The ATM cards were later used at four Gilroy locations.
Defrauding an innkeeper
A43-year-old Morgan Hill man disappeared after stealing $1,050 in furniture from the trailer he rented near Ogier Avenue and Monterey Road in Morgan Hill and neglecting to pay his electricity bill and rent for a month, between 12 p.m. April 1 and 12 p.m. April 19.
Vandalism
A mailbox was pried open from the rear on the 5300 block of Little Uvas Road in Morgan Hill, between 2:30 and 6 p.m. April 22. The reporting party did not know if any mail had been stolen.
The front driver’s side window of a 1997 white Geo Prism was smashed on the 7400 block of Furlong Avenue, between 9 and 10:20 p.m. April 20.
Identity theft
A Gilroy man reported that a 45-year-old man from Temple, Arizona stole his Wells Fargo checks and forged $3,769 through them, between 12 a.m. March 1 and 12 a.m. March 31.
Theft by credit card
A Gilroy woman’s credit card was used to make $343 worth of purchases, between 12 a.m. March 6 and 11:59 p.m. April 20.
