GILROY – Feather Haven turned back rival Silicon Valley Concrete 15-13 Tuesday in a battle of unbeaten Men’s DD Softball League teams at Las Animas Park.
Feather Haven snapped a 12-12 tie with three runs in the top of the seventh. Mark Gallardo, John DeCarlo Sr. and Dave DeCarlo each singled and scored. Silicon Valley responded with one run in the seventh and left the bases loaded.
Ryan McDonnell plated seven Haven runs with a home run, double, single and sacrifice fly. Mitch Martinez went 5-for-5 with a home run for Concrete. Manny Rivera went 4-for-5 and Efrain Arnaga homered for the losers.
Claddagh Brew Crew cruised by Trevino Brothers Construction 19-8 behind a three-run homer from Scott Shipper. Walter Margetich added three singles, scoring four Claddagh runs. Steve Murnin went 5-for-5 for Trevino Brothers.
No Soup 4 You defeated the Titans 16-7 as John Gonzalez went 5-for-5, Ralph Ortiz 4-for-5. Mike Vanni hit two homers and Jim Reimer one in a 4-for-4 effort for the Titans.
CenCal Auto Body (3-1) grabbed a one-game lead in the Men’s C League pennant chase Monday with a 19-3 win over DeHaro Mechanicals (2-2) at Las Animas. Mike Richey homered twice and Jacob Diaz went 4-for-4 and scored four CenCal runs. Mike Luna and EJ Mendoza each tripled and singled for DeHaro.
DS Builders joined DeHaro in second place at 2-2 by topping So Juicy-Vets 13-7. Kyle Kretz homered and Justin Nicholson stroked three singles for DS Builders. Joaquin Zamarron went 4-for-4 for So Juicy.
Self Made rushed to a 9-4 lead and held on to surprise Frank Vargas Taxes 14-8 in Men’s BB League play Monday at Christmas Hill Park. Willie Gamboa lashed a three-run home run and a two-run double in a 4-for-4 effort for the 1-2 winners. Roger Hernandez lined a two-run triple for the 3-1 Taxmen.
Los Gigantes scored 12 runs in the first inning and held on to defeat Team Guerrero 17-14, leaving both squads at 1-2. Chris Soto hit a two-run triple and RBI-single in the Gigantes first frame. Kurt Gitmed went 5-for-5 for the winners. Mike Segovia paced the losers with four singles.
Corey’s Girls defeated All 4 Seasons Pet Services 12-3 Wednesday at Christmas Hill to leave both teams at 1-1 in Women’s League play. Missy Howe lined a triple, double and single for Corey’s Girls. Andrea Castaneda capped the scoring with a three-run homer. Valerie Logan paced All 4 Seasons with two hits.
Ms. BeHaving is 2-1 in second place after a 10-8 squeaker over Goldsmith Seeds. Grace Gonzalez, Barb Lemberger and Denise Luajn each went 4-for-4 for the winners. Dora Olivares plated four runs and Yolanda Lomas scored three runs for Goldsmith.
Chris Velador doubled and scored on an Alex Bass single in the bottom of the seventh to earn 3-0 Blackout Window Tinting a 14-13 Men’s CC win over Dutchman’s Pizza.
Scott Garies went 4-for-4 and Matt Elam socked a two-run homer for Blackout. Pascual Cid scored three runs for 2-1 Dutchman’s.
Donny Gooding and Chris Green each homered as 3-0 Dirty Dozen edged Team Wicked 16-13. Xavier Puente scored four Dirty runs. Eloy Ortiz went 4-for-4 for Team Wicked.
Freddie Gomez homered and Rhino Souza lined a three-run triple to propel Cali Auto past Los Pistoleros 12-4. Joel Lopez plated three Los Pistoleros runs.
The Players (1-2) earned a forfeit win over Walton & Sons Masonry.
