THIS WEEK’S WEB POLL:

Are you satisfied with the direction that the school district is going since Superintendent Deborah Flores took over two years ago?

Yes: 10 No: 2

â–  I’d have to say no, between the property tax debacle, the MACSA and El Portal mess, and the embarrassment of Gilroy High’s missing test scores, it appears that ‘someone’ is not minding the store very well.

â–  Yes. She has a great vision for the GUSD. She still has too many over paid administrators and the little guys are going to be cut short come the budget cuts! We will see who is left standing.

â–  Yes. She has done an admirable job of continuing the goal of eliminating the achievement gap for all students in our GUSD school system.

â–  Yes! She is very impressive and I recommend everyone to attend a meeting where she is speaking.

â–  Generally yes. However, there have been some colossal boo boos on her watch including failure to inform the county assessor of the school bond assessments and, just recently, the disqualification of GHS impressive test scores from last year because someone at GUSD cannot perform simple division!

â–  Yes. I feel a renewed energy, embrace of innovation, and expectation of excellence. She seems willing to listen.
