Wyatt Rocheleau scored 21 points and Shane Suttles added 18 points to help Christopher’s boys basketball team open the Bulldog Chase Tournament with a 56-43 victory over host Sobrato on Thursday night.
Andrew Foster chipped in eight points for the Cougars, who improved to 7-3 overall.
Santa Clara 76, Gilroy 57 – The Mustangs (3-8) fell to the host Bruins despite 21 points from David Gonzalez and 18 points from Zach Loo.
GIRLS BASKETBALL
Los Gatos 40, Christopher 31 – Olivia Tabron led all scorers with 16 points, but the Cougars (4-2) fell in the opening round of the Del Mar Tournament.
Cydney Caradonna added six points for the Cougars.
Ellie Moller led Los Gatos with 11 points.
