Calling all Gilroy fashionistas: The stylish Amoretto Boutique – formerly located on Eigleberry Street behind Station 55 – is upping the classy factor and getting comfy in its new downtown digs.
The locally-owned clothing store operated by sisters Hilda and Sandra Castaneda is open for business in the beautiful 1912 neoclassical building at 7490 Monterey St. The space was previously occupied by Garlic City Books, which closed a year ago.
More than 100 invites have been sent out for the grand opening celebration at 5:30 p.m. Friday.
With high ceilings and an open floor plan, this 2,500-square-foot spacious boutique has plenty of room to display its tempting array of accessories, which includes watches, purses, hats, scarves and jewelry. Guests can lounge in a comfy sitting area in the back of the store, which features a coffee and ice cream bar.
Shoppers can expect to find “one-of-a-kind, trendy, unique accessories” in prices ranging from $20 to $100, says co-owner Sandra, who spent countless hours searching through fashion magazines such as InStyle and Vogue to get ideas and inspiration for the modern boutique.
With varied styles and unique accessories, Amortetto is a chic treasure trove for women of all ages.
“It will be a perfect place to shop for gifts – and for yourself,” smiles Sandra.
