In conjunction with a nationwide movement to support small businesses during holiday shopping, Gilroy’s downtown will be offering incentives to shop local Saturday, Nov. 24.
“Small Business Saturday” is recognized around country the Saturday after Thanksgiving and immediately proceeding Black Friday as a day to support local business. This year, the Downtown Business Association is giving out $20 gift cards valid for redemption at participating downtown restaurants for anyone who spends $100 at participating downtown businesses.
The list of participating business is continuing to grow. So far, Mango Street Kids, Amoretto Boutique, Predator’s Archery, Leedo Gallery and Frame, Gilroy Vacuum Center, Garbo’s Antiques, Dragonfly on Fifth, The Nimble Thimble/Garlic City Mercantile, Collective Past and Bruce’s Tire are participating. Participating restaurants are Station 55, Scotty’s and The Milias Restaurant.
Save your receipts from your shopping trip on Nov. 24 and return to Gilroy’s Downtown Business Association office (at 7780 Monterey St.) between Nov. 26 and Dec. 7 to be awarded a $20 gift card to one of the participating downtown restaurants.
In order to qualify for the gift card, shoppers must spend $100 before tax.
