Gabe Hernandez went 5-for-5 Sunday to help Team Rush to a 9-5 victory over Out 2 Play and sole possession of the second-half Co-Rec C Softball League standings at Christmas Hill Park.
Bobby Granados added three hits as Rush moved to 3-1 with two weeks left in the regular season. Ernie Payan’s two-run home run helped Out 2 Play to four runs in the third inning.
Hi-Energy Networks joined Out 2 Play at 2-2 in second place with a 9-7 edging of Kay’s Kids. Marco Lopez lined a three-run home run in the top of the seventh as Hi-Energy snapped a 5-5 tie. Jerrica Dexter and Jerry Johnston each completed a 3-for-4 night with a double in a two-run seventh for Kay’s Kids.
Guts & Glory rolled to a 19-4 Co-Rec D victory over Team XTreme Sunday at Las Animas Park to leave both teams at 3-1 atop the league at 3-1.
Eddie Adame posted a three-run home run and scored four runs for Guts & Glory. Court Stannard doubled and singled for XTreme.
En Tu Cara moved to 2-2 with a 17-2 decision over Anritsu, leaving both clubs at 2-2. Johnny Castaneda led the winners with a homer, triple and single. Ruben Sanchez went 3-for-3 and scored one Anritsu run.
Avila’s Market turned back Anritsu 29-10 in Men’s DD action Friday to leave both teams at 3-1. Marcus Gaeta hit two home runs and Dru Ornelas scored five Avila’s Market runs. Dave Elston tripled and doubled for Anritsu.
Good, Bad & Ugly also reached 3-1 with a 14-13 squeaker over Louie & the Outlaws. Trailing 10-7 after six, Good pushed across seven runs in the top of the seventh. Donny Gooding homered in the rally. Leroy Martinez went 3-for-4 with a homer for the Outlaws.
Freddie Sanchez Hardwood Floors is 4-0 in first place in the Men’s CC League Friday after topping Inked Tattoo 15-8. Brent Boys went 3-for-3 and scored three Hardwood runs. Gabriel Ponce went 3-for-3 for Inked Tattoo.
Louie Garcia went 5-for-6 and scored four runs to lift AG Construction (2-2) by the Battle Brothers 17-14. Brian Fialkowsky went 3-for-4 for the Brothers.
Frank Vargas Taxes-Fiesta Auto Insurance defeated the Stud Muffins 15-12 as Gabe Hernandez and EJ Mendoza each collected three hits. Anthony Lozano hit two Stud Muffin home runs.

The Lost Boyz dropped into a share of first place in the Men’s E League Thursday with a 6-3 loss to Claddagh Brew Crew. Mike Keith and JR Hernandez each scored two runs for Claddagh. Pete Osuna hit an RBI-double in a three-run first frame for 4-1 Lost Boyz.
VFW Bingo moved to 4-1 with a 28-5 victory over the Sons of Thunder. Dustin Robinson and Nick Robinson each scored four runs for VFW Bingo. Young Trinh and Tim Moon each scored twice for the Sons of Thunder.
