“The posted speed limit on Santa Teresa Boulevard between Fitzgerald Avenue and Day Road West is 50 mph. At 10215 Santa Teresa Blvd., there is a sign saying “35 MPH SPEED ZONE AHEAD.” However, there is no sign saying 35 mph at all farther down the road. The next speed limit sign is in front of Christopher High School saying 45 mph. Why have such a sign at 10215? Perhaps the sign should have said “45 MPH SPEED ZONE AHEAD,” or the sign is left over from the roadway configuration that existed before the high school was built and traffic lights added.”
Red Phone: Dear Confused Driver, The 35 mph sign was indeed misplaced and shouldn’t be there, said Masoud Akbarzadeh, a traffic engineer with the County of Santa Clara Roads and Airports Department. “The subject sign is an orange advisory sign which appears to have been left over from last year’s construction work in front of the high school area,” he said. He said the county would have the 35 mph sign removed.
