Family of murdered former Gilroy man seeks help

The family of a Jose Mireles, a former Gilroy man who was shot to death in Merced in front of his three children, has set up a Go Fund Me site for expenses at https://www.gofundme.com/3pt1l6g
Rudy Mireles, his older brother, said Jose moved to Merced to start a new life when he was shot in his front yard. Police haven’t solved the case.
Rudy said some men who shot at his house. When Jose came out to talk to them and plead with them not to hurt his kids, they shot him on his apartment steps. The children were inside with a friend.
“His oldest child in the house saw him shot gasping for air. He died moments later,” said Rudy.

On Friday, April 28, Hazel Mireles and her children suffered a major loss. We lost a friend, brother, husband, and devoted father. He leaves behind his four children, beloved wife, his mother, and many family/friends that love him and miss him dearly.
Jose was a funny, honest, caring, and loving individual who did anything and everything for his children and family. He loved his mother, Marty so very much. He was a great and caring son to her. He enjoyed watching his favorite football team, the Raiders.
He lived life to the fullest and always expressed his love and respect to his loved ones. We are seeking help in obtaining the necessary funds for his funeral expenses.
