Wine Auction and Food Fest

Sample delicacies from a dozen local restaurants and 12 award-winning wineries during the 13th Annual South Valley Wine Auction and Food Fest from 6 to 10 p.m. Friday at the Morgan Hill Community and Cultural Center, 17000 South Monterey Road. 94.5 KBAY radio’s Jona Denz-Hamilton will host the evening and join popular cowboy auctioneer Pete DeVries, who puts a humorous spin on the fast-paced bidding excitement. Live and silent auction items include rare sports memorabilia, artwork, dining certificates, salon treatments, golf outings and wines. Proceeds support school sports programs. ‘Alice in Wonderland Jr.’ comes to GHS

The Community Service Department and Push Arts and Fitness present “Alice in Wonderland Jr.” at 7:30 p.m. Friday and 3 and 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the Gilroy High School Theater. Cost: $7. Details: 846-0460 or [email protected].

Arts and crafts fest in San Juan Bautista

More than 200 artists and craftsmen will exhibit their wares during the Fine Arts and Quality Crafts Festival from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday in San Juan Bautista. The main stage features Trusting Lucy, a collaboration between songwriters Linda Arceo and Lisa Long. Their music has been described as melodic pop and forceful rock tunes sung with powerful distinctive voices and incredible harmonies. Admission is free. Details: (831) 623-4661.

Animal Shelter holds dog adoption fair

South County Animal Shelter will hold a dog adoption day to help shelter dogs find new homes from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday at BookSmart, 80 E. Second St., Morgan Hill. There will be onsite guidance and counseling to help with questions and concerns in regards to adopting a shelter dog. Visit and find out other ways you can help.
