A grand slam by Marshall Silva and a home run from Andrew Kachel highlighted a Gilroy Little League baseball All-Star 11-year-old Blue 12-2 victory Thursday night – one of four wins for Gilroy baseball All-Star teams on the evening.

The boys 11s (3-0) advance to the District 59 championship game Monday night.

The Junior All-Stars trumped Evergreen 14-3 to move into the District 59 semifinals Saturday morning. A win there gives the locals a spot in the title game Tuesday night.

In the 12-year-old tournament, Gilroy Red lost 5-3 to Milpitas while Gilroy Blue thumped East Hills 16-0. Jon Castro blasted a grand slam, and Bryan Heck and Alex Benavides each had home runs. Gilroy Blue plays Milpitas at 1 p.m. on Saturday to stay alive.

Gilroy boys 10s were on the right side of a squeaker, edging Evergreen 7-6 to claim a spot in Monday night’s championship game at 5:30 p.m.
