The Gilroy Center for the Arts hosted a reception for its sixth annual Black History Month Exhibit on Feb. 15.

This year’s theme is “Celebrating Black Women Artists History Overlooked.”

Artists in the exhibit include Katie Johnson, Ernest Kirk Jr., Louise Shields and others. Violinist Beverly Olivier-Blount and vocalist Angela Tirado performed during the reception.

The exhibit, located inside the arts center at 7341 Monterey St. in downtown Gilroy, is open to the public Saturdays and Sundays through March 1 from 11am-4pm. A closing ceremony is scheduled for March 1 from 1-3pm.
