GILROY—The State Water Resources Control Board has ordered Gilroy to cut its water use by 24 percent to help meet a 25 percent statewide cut by year’s end.
Gilroy—The drought that has plagued California and interrupted a resurgence of steelhead trout in South County waters has offered an unexpected opportunity for conservationists restoring fisheries decimated by pollution.
As California heads into the third year of drought, Santa Clara County cities are implementing water restrictions in an effort to conserve the resource. Gilroy has joined nearby cities in adopting a goal of reducing water consumption by at least 20 percent citywide.
