Even with the catch that the state might ask for more money beyond what is contracted, the Morgan Hill City Council approved July 25 a five-year agreement with Calfire to provide the city’s fire and emergency medical services.
The annual return of Calfire air attack planes at the Hollister Municipal Airport signals an earlier-than-normal start to the wildfire season, to which newly appointed Battalion Chief Josh Nettles and his crew are ready to respond at a moment’s notice.
Calfire was the only fire and emergency medical services provider that responded to the city’s request for proposals that could reduce the existing costs for those services.Â
