Authorities are investigating the circumstances of a body found near the railroad tracks in Gilroy, close to where Gabriel Laradelara’s vehicle and belongings were last seen Dec. 1.
Santa Clara County Sheriff’s deputies responded Dec. 15 to a report of a body found in unincorporated Gilroy near Monterey Road and Rucker Avenue.
The sheriff’s office and county medical examiner’s office have not released the identity of the body found Dec. 15. The medical examiner’s office said Dec. 17 that authorities had not yet confirmed the person’s identity.
“A body has been found in unincorporated Gilroy near where missing person Gabriel Laradelara was last seen,” the sheriff’s office posted on X (formerly Twitter) on Dec. 15. “The Medical Examiner-Coroner’s office is working to positively identify the person.”
Earlier this month, the sheriff’s office alerted the public to be on the lookout for Laradelara, 21, who had been reported missing. Laradelara was last seen Dec. 1, driving his 2003 black Infiniti FX45 in the area of Monterey and Rucker. The vehicle had been found abandoned on the side of the roadway.
Laradelara is described as a Hispanic male with short black hair and brown eyes, authorities said. Laraderla is about 5-feet, 7-inches tall and weighs about 140 pounds.
