Léal Vineyards debuts ‘threesome’
Hollister – Léal Vineyards’ proudly announces the release of the racy, edgy and provocative “Threesome,” a proprietary Rhone-style blend. Léal Vineyards is no stranger to controversial and risqué wine names; their 2001 “Ménage à Trois” was a huge hit with retailers and restaurateurs. Winemaker Dave “Griff” Griffith and Owner Frank Léal continue to prove that they can make a splash and have fun while thumbing their noses at sometimes stuffy industry standards.
Threesome is the marriage of three classic Rhone red varietals: Syrah, Grenache, and Mourvèdre. Flavors of intense fruit including plum, blueberry, raspberry and dark chocolate are intertwined with an appropriate spiciness and subtle tannins. Taken together, they create a sexy, juicy mouthfeel, with a luscious, lingering finish. Only 455 cases were produced, making this Léal’s most limited production wine to-date.
Threesome will retail for $24 at the winery and selected fine wine stores.
