second piano competition, March 3 at Gavilan College Theatre.
Gilroy – Piano students 8 to 18 are invited to participate in the second piano competition, March 3 at Gavilan College Theatre.
Division One will be open for students 8 to 10, Division Two for students 11 to 13, and Division Three for those 14 to 18. Entry fee is $25, non refundable.
Each participant is expected to have prepared (by memory) two stylistically contrasting pieces. One original copy of the piece must be supplied to the judges. At the conclusion of the auditions the finalists of Division Three will be named and will compete in the final evening competition.
The winner of Division Three will be asked to play at the Gavilan Bach To Blues concert and may be asked to perform for the South Valley Symphony Youth Concert. Cash prizes from $50 to $500 and will be awarded to division winners.
