The Red Phone got in touch with Capt. Debbie Moore with Gilroy Police Department who said, “There aren’t any plans to change our motto. The final design plans (decal, wording, etc.) for the future black and white police vehicles hasn’t been finalized at this time.” She added that Capt. Scot Smithee will be working with a group of officers in the future to finalize the design plans.

The current motto is: Pride, professionalism, service.

getting rid of waste: “I’m calling because I just read the article on biohazards and getting rid of waste (Dec. 7) and there wasn’t a lot of information about the Santa Clara County program, but it is a really good program.

It happens the first weekend of the month. The next one will be the first weekend in February and all you need to do is call 299-7300 and schedule an appointment to drop off hazardous waste from your home. So I’d encourage people to do that because we don’t want to have things dumped in our creeks around Gilroy. Thanks a lot Red Phone.”
