GILROY – The City Council will consider the following items of interest at its meeting Monday:

• Review of master plans for the Carriage Hills and Los Arroyos parks.

• A study session on Sargent Ranch. Council is slated to receive a presentation on future plans for the 5,200-acre ranch southwest of Gilroy, which has been targeted in times past for two golf courses and up to 130 homes. The property is not within city limits but owners are reportedly seeking advisory feedback from city leaders.

• Appointment of members to the agricultural mitigation task force and several city boards and commissions.

• A hearing to approve a 76-acre, 250-lot subdivision request for Glen-Loma Group and Arcadia Development’s Rancho Hills and Deer Park subdivisions at the northwest corner of Santa Teresa Boulevard and Sunrise Drive.

Development would result in single-family, low-density homes on lots ranging from 6,000 to 15,900 square-feet in size. Future architectural reviews will still be required.

• A permit request to operate an Alzheimer’s and assisted-living facility within the new Village Green development at Santa Teresa Boulevard and Hecker Pass Highway.

• An introduction of Wendie Rooney, the city’s new community development director.

• Formal adoption of land-use permits for Regency Centers’ new Gilroy Crossing shopping center southeast of the U.S. 101/state Highway 152 junction. The matter will likely be tabled until a special meeting Wednesday morning.

• An update on the Charter Communications upgrade.

The study session begins at 6 p.m. with the regular meeting following at 7 p.m. in the Council Chambers at Gilroy City Hall, 7351 Rosanna St.
