Dear Editor,
In 1992, 400 US Federal Government agents attacked an Idaho family at their home, Ruby Ridge. They killed Randy Weaver’s dog, his son, and a sharpshooter killed his wife on her front porch. Randy Weaver was found innocent of the weapons charges that agents attempted to set him up on. In 1993 government agents incinerated a religious group in Waco, TX.
Mr. Taylor, Ruby Ridge is not a joke to be gleefully made light of in your column. It is a sad reflection on your government gone wrong, murdering its citizens.
Now, as to the subject of your column –
Wal-Mart. You have attacked Wal-Mart several times in the past. Wal-Mart provides employment for many people of all sorts. Some I have noticed are deficient in English but all are helpful and respectful of the customers.
They are there because Wal-Mart offered them work and they agreed to the terms offered. They have opportunities to advance to better positions fitting their capabilities and experience. Some I have talked to are pleased with what they are doing and don’t want to advance.
Have you ever actually talked to any employees there? Some are receiving supplemental benefits from the government and that is a cost to the taxpayers. However, without Wal-Mart employment they would be an even heaver burden on the taxpayers. This of course would make them dependents (slaves) of the government.
That is what you really want for everyone, isn’t it Mr. Taylor.
