THIS WEEK’S WEB POLL:
Given the news of two car dealerships closing in Gilroy within the week, how important do you believe it is to buy a car locally?
Not at all: 0 Somewhat: 1 Very: 11
■ Somewhat. The availability of local service is important but ultimately it’s price that would dictate where I purchased a vehicle.
■ Very important. And that also applies to shopping locally with all of our Gilroy businesses when possible.
■ It is “very” important to the City of Gilroy as a whole. Unfortunately, competitive pricing is more important to the individual than location and civic responsibility (no pun intended).
■ VERY! We need to buy EVERYTHING in town-shop locally!!!!
■ Very sad we lost two dealerships. It is very important to buy locally. That is what helps the city with tax revenue.
■ It is very important to support local business. I bought my truck in Gilroy and bought my Indian Motorcycle that was made in Gilroy.
■ VERY, as long as they are price competitive with other bay area dealers.
■ Very. Purchasing locally keeps our taxes in town.
