Three of the four singles matches between the Christopher and North Salinas tennis team’s went to third-set tiebreakers. The Cougars came out on the other end with team point in two of those.
However CHS lost the match 4-3 on Monday.
No. 2 singles player Emily Collins (4-6, 6-1, 10-5) and No. 4 singles player Nubia Juarez (6-1, 4-6, 10-8) won their matches. No. 1 singles player Emily Barham breezed through her match, defeating Brenda Santana 6-0, 6-0.
The Cougars, who have been searching for the right pairings, were swept in doubles play. Adena Chen and Celeste Martinez, playing at No. 2 doubles, nearly gave the Cougars a match-winning point, narrowly dropping their match (6-2, 1-6, 10-8.)
