The Gilroy Senior Center recently enjoyed a formative and educational topic, “Scam Prevention for Seniors,” hosted by South County Supervisor and President of the Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors, Mike Wasserman and the Santa Clara County District Attorney’s Office.
Some of the topics covered were home improvement scams, foreign lottery prizes and sweepstakes, investment fraud, fake emergency appeals, charitable solicitations and credit card fraud.
More than 100 seniors attended the hour-long presentations and were able to get additional information with the many handouts available. Wasserman visited with various seniors and answered numerous questions for them.
