Gilroy Police dealt with a handful of violent events this week as well as burglaries and thefts. Here are a few events:
Restaurant burglary
Two Gilroy residents were arrested for allegedly stealing toilets, light fixtures and copper wiring from an out-of-business Chinese buffet at 8630 San Ysidro at 5:20 p.m. on March 14. Chen De Li, 43, and Bi Feng Lin, 39 were arrested for burglary and taken to Santa Clara County Jail, said Police Sgt. Pedro Espinoza.
Woman grabbed, robbed by three men
A driver for Unity Transport was assaulted and robbed at 11:30 p.m. on March 14 at the Dryer’s Ice Cream warehouse on the 6200 block of Engle Way during one of her rounds. Three male suspects placed hands over her mouth and held her from behind as he stole her belongings from her hands and the trunk of her car. The suspects, all males around 5′ 7” ran west toward the railroad tracks and were not caught.
Fight at party on Delta Drive
Police got a call from a neighbor about an out-of-control party on Delta Drive. When police arrived, they found two men fighting. There were 20 people outside a home watching a fight between Raymond Aguliar, 38 of Gilroy, and Joseph Luna of San Martin. Aguliar had his shirt off and his forehead was bleeding. Aguilar had also punched someone. Both men were arrested for fighting in public, resisting arrest and disturbing the peace, according to Espinoza. They were taken to Santa Clara County Jail.
