Tickets are on sale for a dinner fundraiser to benefit Gilroy Garlic Festival Executive Director Brian Bowe, who is battling a rare cancer.
“Pasta Night: A Fundraiser for Brian Bowe” is set for 6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 8 at the I.F.D.E.S. Portuguese Hall, located at 250 Old Gilroy St.
Tickets are $50 and can be purchased at the Gilroy Chamber of Commerce (842-6437) or Al Pinheiro Insurance (842-4619).
Roughly two-dozen local volunteers are planning the event, which will include cocktails, three types of pasta, salad and dessert.
Bowe, who has carcinoid cancer, faces approximately $75,000 in out-of-pocket costs to travel to Houston to receive treatment for his illness. He was diagnosed in 2005.
