Dr. James Dana Russell died Monday, May 17, 2004, at his
residence in Angels Camp.
Dr. James Dana Russell died Monday, May 17, 2004, at his residence in Angels Camp.
Dr. Russell was born Jan. 16, 1929, in Minneapolis, Minn. He was a resident of Angels Camp for the past eight years, but lived in Gilroy previously for many years.
Dr. Russell was a veterinarian for 40 years. He worked for Simonsen Laboratories, located in Gilroy, doing lab animal medical research. He was also a member of the Greenhorn Creek Golf Club, Murphys branch of S.I.R.S., and the Angels Gun Club.
He is survived by his wife, June Russell of Angels Camp; sons, Dane Russell, of Madison, Wis., Dale Russell of Sacramento, Scott Russell of Citrus Heights; daughter, Beth Pena of Gilroy; stepdaughters, Laura Skokandic of Diamond Bar and Ellen Larrick of Visalia; stepson Don Larrick of Las Vegas, Nev.; sister, Barbara Neumann of Tucson, Ariz.; and seven grandchildren.
A celebration of life was held in the Fireside Room at the Greenhorn Creel Resort in Angels Camp.
Inurnment services were held privately.
