Kurt Simmons went 5-for-5 and scored five runs as the Builders moved to 2-0 in first-half play in the Gilroy Community Services Department’s adult softball program.
Kurtis Salter aided the DS attack by stroking a three-run home run, two doubles and a single. Eric Gonzalez went 4-for-4 with a sacrifice fly and Eric Tollison singled and doubled while scoring four DS runs.
Mike Sandoval hit a grand slam and two doubles for Pro Electric. Danny Sandoval went 3-for-4 and Daniel Sandoval Sr. scored three runs.
BM Construction rallied past the Las Animas Sweepers 17-13.
Brian Cortez, Emiliano Arde, Joe Arde and Jason Cristobal poked consecutive two-out RBI-singles in the fourth inning to give the Sweepers a 9-8 lead. BM Construction countered with four runs in the bottom of the fourth, keyed by E. J. Mendoza’s two-run single.
Mendoza muscled two home runs and Mike Luna and Robert Flores each scored three BM Construction runs. Joe Arde took game batting honors with four hits.
Keading Performance (1-1) topped Keller Heating 17-7 behind a 4-for-4 effort from Paul Garcia.
Daniel DeLeon, Rich Perez and Moe Cantano each netted a double and two singles for Keading. Louie Cantano hit a three-run home run. Josh Torres and David Arioto each went 3-for-4 for Keller Heating (1-1).
The Cali Boys are 2-0 atop the Men’s CCC league after a 17-5 victory over the Desperados Monday at Las Animas Park.
Sal Preciado went 4-for-4 and Humberto Quintero, Danny Banderas and Mike Preciado each homered for the Cali Boys. Andy Stuve tripled and singled for the 1-1 Desperados.
Louie and the Outlaws capped a 20-5 win over Chris Costello Electric with a 14-run final-frame rally to leave both clubs at 1-1.
Leroy Martinez hit a grand slam and a run-scoring single for the Outlaws. Louie Bobadilla followed with a triple and single. Martinez also hit a three-run home run and a single. Chris Costello and Tommy Costello each went 2-for-3.
