Dear Editor,
I would like to respond to Cherri Marshall’s letter in the Friday, May 5 newspaper headlined Council Changed the Rule for “Spoiled” Residents of Eagle Ridge. To Eagle Ridge want-to-be Cherri Marshall:
Why shouldn’t Eagle Ridge residence be entitled to the Gilroy police? Eagle Ridge residence pay taxes like everyone else, if not more. We are not spoiled, we are not elite, we are not rich (Saratoga and Los Gatos are rich), but we have worked hard to make our preference of living in Eagle Ridge a reality. We choose to live in a safe neighborhood. We pay more for living her in beautiful Eagle Ridge with our homeowner dues, taxes and mandatory upkeep. We follow our homeowner association rules. What is wrong with wanting a safe environment for our family?
Oh and by the way, Eagle Ridge is a public golf course (not private) and there is a clubhouse you’re welcome to dine at.
