Gilroy – Superior Court Judge Hector Ramon read the charges Thursday against Vanessa Bullock, the Gilroy woman who allegedly extorted more than $150,000 of equipment from Indian-Victory Motorcycles and resold it on eBay, an auction Web site, and James Collier, the motorcycle mechanic who shares her home and allegedly aided her crimes.

Bullock, 43, was charged with extorting $23,000 from an Indian-Victory employee, threatening the victim with a handgun, and buying or receiving a stolen Indian Sprint motorcycle and motorcycle parts. Police said Bullock threatened the victim at least three times between March and July, using her gang connections and a gun to intimidate the man.

The Gilroy woman was also charged with identity theft and evading police while driving without a valid license. Her bail was set at $58,000.

Collier, 48, faces charges of buying, receiving, concealing, or withholding motorcycle parts – or aiding Bullock in doing so – and buying or receiving the same stolen Indian Sprint motorcycle. Prior to his arrest, he worked as a mechanic at Pro Street Custom Cycles in Gilroy. His bail was set at $25,000.

The couple was arrested Tuesday morning in a SWAT-style operation, three days after Bullock’s victim reported her alleged crimes to police July 13.

Both Bullock and Collier will next appear in court 9am Friday, July 27.
