The FBI arrested Aaron Carlon, 42 of Gilroy, at his workplace Monday morning, on a warrant for two felony counts of child pornography.
A person who wished to remain anonymous contacted the Dispatch and said about eight FBI agents came in unmarked cars and quietly walked into Carlon’s office to arrest him at 9:15 a.m.Â
Carlon faces a maximum of 20 years in prison and a $250,000 fine for the first count, as well as a 10 year-prison term and a $250,000 for the second count.Â
Carlon’s home on the 200 block of Lewis Avenue was raided by FBI on Feb. 2. Agents took two hard disk drives, six thumb drives, a Dell desktop computer and 11 floppy disks allegedly containing depictions of minors engaging in sexually explicit conduct, according to federal court records.Â
The FBI would not confirm or deny charges until this week.
Since February, Carlon has continued to go to work and works in the customer service field.
On Tuesday morning, residents of the stucco townhouse strip where Carlon lived did not answer the door, or said they did not know Carlon.
According to Jack Gillund of the U.S. Attorney General’s Office, Carlon is scheduled to appear in federal court in San Jose Thursday, Nov. 1 for a detention hearing.Â
Gillund would give no further comments on the case.Â
