GILROY – Police arrested two 17-year-old boys who they say robbed a 24-year-old man and hit him in the face with a flowerpot.

The boys, one from Gilroy and the other from Morgan Hill, approached the victim at his 7190 Eigleberry St. apartment complex Tuesday night and demanded all his money, police said.

He gave them some loose change as well as a gold chain.

During the incident, one of the suspects threw a ceramic pot at the victim, hitting him in the face and cutting his upper lip, police said.

The wound required 12 stitches.

Both boys were sent to Santa Clara County Juvenile Hall on suspicion of robbery and assault with a deadly weapon, both felonies.
