GILROY – Using the generous platform of the Gilroy-South County Sunrise Rotary, a fundraiser will be held Saturday at the Westside Grill with proceeds going toward the Anchorpoint Christian Athletic Department.
Anchorpoint athletes have been diligently selling tickets at $30 a pop to help raise funds that will go toward purchasing various sports equipment.
“There was a theft last year and we wanted to help replenish (the equipment),” Sunrise Rotary president Mary Humphrey said.
It was reported in October 2009 that about $16,000 worth of football equipment was stolen out of a shed on Anchorpoint’s campus.
Guests are invited to “Shake, Rattle and Roll” with Gilroy’s own “Elvis” Donald Prieto and the Hound Dogs. Festivities begin at 6:30 p.m. and will include wine and hors d’oeuvres in the Piazza Courtyard.
