Police arrested three visitors to Morgan Hill hotels for drug-related charges and a man violating parole in a two-night operation that targeted people on parole or probation.
One of those arrested, Steven San Ramon, 31 of Hollister, was arrested in a traffic stop by the Morgan Hill Police Department’s K-9 unit, according to Cmdr. Joe Sampson. San Ramon was arrested in his vehicle behind the Microtel Inn and Suites at 16245 Condit Rd. The police dog detected drugs in the car’s center console and heating vents, and police found methamphetamine packaged for sale, as well as an unidentified quantity of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, Sampson said. He was arrested for possession of a controlled substance for sale and being under the influence of a controlled substance.
The arrest took place Wednesday night.
Also arrested in a traffic stop Wednesday was Nicole Farner, 28 of Pleasant Hill, for possession of a controlled substance. She was pulled over as she was leaving the parking lot of a hotel on Condit Road that Sampson did not identify.
Arrested Thursday in the parking lot of the Executive Inn Suites at 16505 Condit Rd. was Robert Curry, 26 of Gilroy, for possession of a controlled substance.
All three subjects, who were arrested in seemingly unrelated incidents, were in possession of methamphetamine and cocaine, Sampson said.
Also arrested Wednesday on a parole violation was Dennis Duell, 46 of Morgan Hill. He was arrested at his home on Maple Leaf Drive, Sampson said.
The arrests were the result of a probation and parole check that went from 7 p.m. until 12 midnight Wednesday and Thursday, Sampson said. Tactics used in the investigation included checking vehicles’ license plate numbers at local hotels.
“This was a good proactive sweep conducted by our special operations unit,” Sampson said.
