Police officers conducted several minor decoy/Should Tap operations throughout Morgan Hill last Saturday, April 27 and made four arrests for furnishing alcohol to a minor, according to Corpl. Scott Purivs with MHPD.
In three of the four cases, a minor decoy asked an adult to purchase alcohol for him or her. The adult “obliged and provided alcohol to the minor decoy” according to a MHPD press release sent yesterday. In one of the incidents, a minor decoy entered a liquor store and purchased alcohol directly from the clerk, Purvis said.
Purvis would not release the identities of the arrested or the locations where the undercover operations took place as the investigation is still underway and will continue for another two months. The four people who were arrested in the April 27 incidents were given citations and court dates and are out of custody, Purvis said.
This project is part of the Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control’s Minor Decoy/Shoulder Tap Grant Project, funded by the California Office of Traffic Safety through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
