After taking a break last year, the Jazz @ Gavilan Concert is returning Nov. 4 at 7:30pm to the Gavilan College Theater, 5055 Santa Teresa Blvd.
This year the show will feature two groups including Gavilan faculty member, pianist Dahveed Behroozi’s ensemble and Los Angeles-based pianist Vardan Ovsepian’s ensemble.
Both pianists have earned high accolades across the international jazz scene, with JazzTimes calling Behroozi, “A composer/improviser in possession of important new understandings about lyricism…He is a pianist that gets under your skin.”
The theater will be at 50 percent capacity. Attendees must show proof of vaccination at the door, have a photo ID and wear masks indoors.
