The Gavilan softball team racked up five hits Thursday, but were unable to turn those into runs.
Unfortunately for the Rams, Cabrillo had no shortage of players crossing the plate as they fell 8-0 in six innings at home.
The Seahawks jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the top of the first, but were held scoreless until the fourth. Cabrillo added a run in the fourth, three in the fifth and two more in the sixth for the final.
Adrianna Ortega and Anissa Martinez each had two hits a piece for Gavilan. Samantha Parraz had the other.
Erika Baxter was handed the loss in the circle. She allowed six runs—three earned—on seven hits through four and a third innings of work. She also walked two and struck out one.
Gavilan (7-24 overall, 2-11 in conference) will play its home finale at 3 p.m. Tuesday against San Jose City College.
