Gavilan’s three-game skid came to an end with a 52-49 win over College of Marin Friday. 
Natalie Armstrong made her return after missing three games due to a concussion and she made her presence known. Armstrong led the team with 16 points as well as four rebounds and four steals. 
Felicia Lee-Cardenas posted 13 points for Gavilan in addition to a block and two charges. Brittany Valdez was stellar on the boards, picking up 10 rebounds in the game. 
Gavilan led 23-18 at the half and never looked back. It was enough to give it the edge, despite being outscored 31-29 in the second half. 
The Rams (3-6) will take the week off from play before returning to action at 2 p.m. Dec. 18 against Mendocino at the Monterey Peninsula Tournament.

Rams drop two at MP Tournament
Gavilan came within seven points of recording its first win of the season, but West Valley had other plans. 
The Rams lost 44-37 to the Vikings during a hard fought battle Saturday at the Monterey Peninsula Tournament in Monterey. 
Gavilan was within two at the half, trailing 16-14 to West Valley. 
Wyatt Madrid led the offense with 16 points and also recorded a rebound and an assist. RJ Collins added eight points, six rebounds, five steals and an assist. 
Takoda Bowers was stellar on defense against the Vikings, recording 10 boards and two blocks as well as four points. 
Gavilan also lost the tournament opener, a 76-36 final to Irvine Valley on Thursday. 
The Rams (0-7) will be back on the court at 2 p.m. Friday to take on Reedley in the Skyline Tournament opener.
