The Gavilan softball team took a one-run lead in the top of the second against Ohlone Thursday, but unfortunately for the Rams their lead would be short-lived.
The Renegades posted five runs in the bottom of the inning en route to a 14-2 victory over Gavilan in five innings at Ohlone.
Ohlone scored three more in the bottom of the third and added five in the bottom of the fourth for the final.
Mari Rodriguez led the Rams with a 2 for 2 performance. She scored a run and had a double for the Rams. Ruby Sa’avedra was 1 for 2 with a run, an RBI and a double.
Samantha Parraz was handed the loss, pitching one-and-a-third innings. She allowed six runs on seven hits. Erica Baxter gave up eight runs—four earned—on nine hits through two-and-two-third innings.
Gavilan (4-17 overall, 0-7 in conference) will play in the March Madness Tournament Saturday and Sunday in Fremont.
