Gavilan volleyball dropped a pair of matches at the Santa Rosa Tournament Saturday, losing 3-1 against Feather River College and 3-2 against Santa Rosa.
The losses drop the Rams to 2-3 in the young season.
Jessica Stofer and Tasmin Apple led the attack in the first match, recording 12 and 11 kills, respectively.
It was enough to keep the Rams in every game against Feather, going 23-25, 23-25, 25-18, 20-25.
Andreinna Castaneda followed with 10 kills.
Defensively, Daisy Valladares led the team with 20 digs against Feather. Karina Daniels and Sabina Gerard each followed with 12.
Gerard also had a match-leading 34 assists.
Gav followed with a five-set contest against host Santa Rosa Junior College, going 25-16, 20-25, 25-14, 23-25, 7-15.
Apple led the Rams’ attack with 20 kills. No one else on the team had more than eight kills.
Karina Daniels led the defense with 25 digs, followed by Gerard and Valladares with 18 and 16, respectively.
Andreinna Castaneda and Stofer each contributed four blocks. Both had two solo and two assisted blocks.
Gavilan travels to the Napa Valley Tournament Wednesday and is scheduled to take on Napa Valley and Shasta colleges. That will lead the Rams into the Delta College Classic starting Friday.
