George Munro Ivory, Jr., age 73, died Monday, March 21, 2005, in Austin, Texas.
The former Gilroy resident was born in Manila, Philippine Islands and moved with his family to Flagstaff, Ariz., after WWII. He attended Northern Arizona University and was a member of the Delta Sigma Phi Fraternity. He served in the US Air force during the Korean Conflict.
Mr. Ivory spent his working years as an entrepreneur working in real estate development and investments. His hobbies were travel, playing dominos and bridge, football and cocktails. He and his wife spent many years after retirement going on cruises and traveling the country in the their motor home. He was a life member of the Brotherhood of Elks, the Republican Party and the Rotary Club.
He is survived by his children, Mary, Ken and Sally; sisters, Marcia and Helen; and his grandchildren, Chrissy, Leah, Kenny and Amy.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 39 years, Anne Harris Ivory.
Graveside services will be held at 11am today, March 24, 2005 at Austin Memorial Park in Austin, Texas. George will be interred next to his wife.
