GILROY – The Gilroy High boys volleyball team fell in three games to undefeated Monterey in last Friday’s home match – losing 11-15, 10-15, 16-18.

The Mustangs, hoping to earn an at-large bid into the CCS Playoffs, are now 8-4 in the MBL standings with two matches remaining against Seaside on May 1 and Live Oak on May 3.

For Gilroy, junior outside hitters Scott Martin and Jason Mendeceles each recorded a team-high 13 kills, while junior middle Jon Bowe registered nine kills. In addition, senior setter Josh Corioso finished with a team-high 41 assists, while teammates Josh Gravell and Will Lawrence combined for 10 blocks.
