MORGAN HILL – Coffee drinkers will soon be able to return to a favorite watering hole.

The Coffee Roasting Club at Monterey and Second in downtown Morgan Hill is receiving a facelift in more ways than one. After the closure of the business on May 27, new owners have stepped in to remodel and rename.

Owner Marcia Gofstein, who also operates First Street Coffee in Gilroy, has renamed the business The Second Street Coffee Exchange. She plans to reopen within the next two weeks.

Gofstein purchased First Street Coffee Exchange in September. With the closure of the Coffee Roasting Club, she believed it was a good opportunity to expand.

“We found this place and decided to come down and do something with it,” she said.

Some changes are planned. In addition to the coffee mainstays, smoothies and pastries will be served.

Gofstein has plans for entertainment Saturday nights. She currently has entertainment at her business in Gilroy and she plans to do the same here.

Right now Gofstein is working hard to get the place ready for a grand opening. The place is receiving a new paint job and a thorough cleaning.

Gofstein is currently looking for people to fill positions at the new store. Those who would like to apply for jobs should pick up an application at First Street Coffee in Gilroy.
