School districts stand alone with seven-member boards

In celebration of National Poetry Month, the Gilroy Public
Library will hold a teen poetry contest.
In celebration of National Poetry Month, the Gilroy Public Library will hold a teen poetry contest.

The contest, hosted by Santa Clara County libraries, is broken down into middle and high school categories, and teens can submit up to three poems at the Gilroy Public Library, at 7652 Monterey St., or online at santaclaracountylib.org.

The deadline for contest entries is May 2.

One winner in each category will win a $25 gift card, with the winning poem entered in the Voices of Youth Advocates national contest. Winning entries will also be published online and in a booklet at the library.
