Gilroy – A Gilroy man is in critical but stable condition after he was involved in a head on collision in Aromas.
Chad Snyder, 31, has been in back and foot surgery for the last two days, his mother Karen said. The other driver, a man from Watsonville was killed in the Tuesday night accident. His name was not released.
The California Highway Patrol said Snyder was driving his Toyota Tundra pickup east on Highway 129 about 5:50pm. At around the same time, a Toyota mini-van came from the opposite direction and drove across the center division line, crashing into Snyder, CHP said.
“I just don’t know what happened. I don’t know why the other man crashed into my son. I don’t know if he had a heart attack, if he was on drugs, or if he was drinking,” Karen Snyder said.
The cause of the accident is unknown and the case is still under investigation.
