Don was born in Capay, CA and grew up in Aromas where in high school he met Bertha Gotterba. Don and Bertha fell in love, married in May 1941 and were happily together for 71 years.
Jeanette (Jan) Morones Morton died peacefully Friday, September 2, 2011. She will be laid to rest next to her beloved son Brett Morton on September 6, 2011. Although, the last years of her life she suffered poor health, she remained optimistic and resilient. Her spirit, kindness and faith persevered. Jan loved and nurtured her sons and grandsons completely. She will be deeply missed by her sons Benjamin and Jason Morton, grandsons Joseph and Jacob Morton, as well as her two brothers, sister and many friends.
Visitation will be Thursday, June 12th, 2014, from 12:00 noon until 8:30 P.M., with the Rosary offered at 7:00 P.M. at the mortuary chapel. Family and friends will leave the mortuary on Friday morning at 9:30 A.M. for a Mass at 10:00 A.M. at the Old Mission San Juan Bautista. Interment, San Juan District Cemetery. Laurette C. Ehrich loved dearly by her family passed away peacefully at her home in Gilroy on October 24, 2008 surrounded by her family. Laurette was born October 4, 1923 on Mount Madonna where she lived until she was 13. She then moved to Gilroy where she attended Gilroy High School and met her husband Jack S. Ehrich who preceded her in death in 1980. Laurette worked for Eustice Insurance Agency for many years. She also worked and eventually retired from Wheeler Hospital/St. Louise Hospital in Gilroy. She was a remarkable woman with a great talent of crocheting. Laurette was a charter member of Las Animas Post 669 of the American Legion Auxiliary, a member of The ICF District 28 and The Others Club. She belonged to the P.T.A. of her daughter's school. She enjoyed playing Bridge and Bunco with her many friends.
Passed away in Turlock at the age of 75. She was born in St. Joe, Texas and lived in Hollister for 48 years, moving here from Salinas. She and her husband, Sam, were married in 1947 in Tulia, TX. Along with her husband, they pastored for many years at The Apostolic Full Gospel Church of Christ on Santa Ana Rd and she had a great love of gospel music.
Alice E. Herron passed away June 5, 2007 at the age of 95. She is survived by her son Gordon and his wife Donna Herron and grandchildren Matthew and Christina Herron all of Gilroy. She also leaves behind her sister Doris Rasmussen of Aptos and numerous nieces and nephews. Private services will be held.
