Palo Alto police searched three homes in South Gilroy looking for a man with two outstanding warrants and a violent history.

Residents living near Church Street and Victoria Drive were startled Sunday afternoon when police forces from Gilroy and Palo Alto raided several homes in the neighborhood.

The SWAT team was “looking for a person of interest,” Police Agent Dan Ryan said. With the help of Gilroy police, Palo Alto officers detained several acquaintances of the suspect in order to search the homes. However the suspect was not found, Ryan said, and police are still working to track down the suspect, whose name they declined to release.

No arrests were made.
