SAN MARTIN – Louis Oosthuizen, the 2010 British Open Champion, has committed to the Frys.com Open. Oosthuizen, the 52nd ranked player on the Official World Golf Rankings, also holds six international victories. While spending most of his time on the European Tour, Oosthuizen has played in a total of 31 PGA Tour events, making 17 cuts and earning more than $1.8 million in the process. His best finish on the tour this year came at the U.S. Open, where he tied for ninth.
The Frys.com Open will be played Thursday through Sunday at CordeValle Golf Club.
Also committing to the field recently are four-time PGA Tour winner Heath Slocum and Chad Campbell, a four-time PGA TOUR winner and member of three U.S. Ryder Cup teams.
The list of committed players also includes a number top PGA Tour players including Ernie Els, the 45th ranked player on the Official World Golf Rankings; Angel Cabrera, winner of the 2007 U.S. Open and the 2009 Masters; the 76th ranked player on the Official World Golf Rankings, Kevin Na; the 23rd ranked golfer on the Official World Golf Rankings, Paul Casey; 12-time PGA Tour winner (including the 1996 British Open) Justin Leonard; two-time PGA Tour winner Paul Goydos; the 39th ranked player on the 2011 PGA Tour money list Tommy Gainey; 13-time PGA Tour winner (including the 2001 British Open Championship) David Duval; 2009 US Open runner-up Ricky Barnes, the 47th ranked player on the 2011 FedEx Cup standings Spencer Levin and the 50th ranked player on the Official World Golf Rankings and 71-time PGA Tour winner Tiger Woods.
