GILROY – City police booked three men and two women into county jail Friday night after finding a quarter pound of methamphetamine and a handgun at a West Seventh Street house.
Police said their Anti-Crime Team, which specializes in gang and drug investigation, went to 161 W. Seventh St. to check the parole compliance of resident Richard Ochoa, 47. They said they found Ochoa there with three other people, the methamphetamine, packaging materials and the unloaded gun.
Police arrested Ochoa at 11:18 p.m. on suspicion of possessing methamphetamine for sale, possessing a handgun as a convicted felon, possessing a handgun and drugs together and violating his parole. They also booked 39-year-old John Martinez of 7150 Eigleberry St., whose parole officer had placed a search out for him, on suspicion of the same charges.
In addition, police arrested Patricia Delarosa, 28, of Live Oak, and Sonia Rosales, 35, of Hollister, on suspicion of possessing methamphetamine for sale. Rosales had an additional amount of methamphetamine on her person and thus could get another felony charge, police said. Police also named Delarosa for possessing a handgun as a convicted felon.
A fifth person approached the residence while police were there, Rudy Tellez, 37, transient. Upon investigation, police said, they found that Tellez had methamphetamine in his possession and was in violation of his probation. They arrested him outside the home.
