The Morgan Hill Gymnastics competitive team traveled to Marin on
Sunday, Oct. 12 to compete in the ‘Tumble in the Jungle’ meet.
MARIN – The Morgan Hill Gymnastics competitive team traveled to Marin on Sunday, Oct. 12 to compete in the ‘Tumble in the Jungle’ meet.
The Level 4s placed fourth in team awards and also had season-high vault scores with all girls scoring an 8.0 or better and two girls, Jaclyn Dixon and Alex Saquella, scoring above a 9.0.
Dixon went on to place second in the all-around for Level 4s in the 11-year-old and over age division. The 12-year-old finished first on vault, third on floor, fifth on bars and seventh on beam.
In the ages 9-10 division, Saquella, 9, placed third in the all-around – taking second on vault and bars, fourth on beam, and eighth on floor. Ten-year-old teammate Emelie Hertz finished seventh in the all-around – placing third on bars, fifth on floor, 14th on beam, and 17th on vault. Nine-year-old Danielle Risner took 11th in the all-around by scoring sixth on floor, seventh on vault and 11th on both beam and bars. Gymnast Jaime Webb, 9, finished 14th in the all-around – placing fourth on floor, 11th on vault, 14th on bars, and 15th on beam.
The 6- to 7-year-old division at Level 4s saw Samantha Laird, 7, place seventh in the all-around – taking sixth on both floor and bars as well as eighth on vault and 13th on beam. Seven-year-old teammate Caroline Seifert finished in 17th overall – placing ninth on floor, 12 on vault and 18th on beam.
Stepping up to the 8-year-old age division, Jordan Fedalizo placed seventh in the all-around with seventh-place marks on beam and bars as well as eighth on vault and ninth on floor. Eight-year-old Alexis DeHaven scored seventh on vault and ninth on beam to place 13th in the all-around.
At Level 5 for ages 9-10, Amanda Suniga, 10, placed fifth in the all-around – finishing third on floor, fourth on beam, sixth on bars, and seventh on vault. Ten-year-old teammate Melina Sagor took 10th in the all-around by scoring seventh on bars, 11th on both beam and vault, and 12th on floor.
