Gilroy – Police arrested a convicted narcotics offender for allegedly selling drugs out of his Hanna Street home.

Antonio Mendoza Solis, 29, is on probation but failed to provide the Gilroy Police Department with his current address, as is required for drug offenders.

Members of GPD’s Anti-Crime Team contacted Solis at his 7240 Hanna St. home at 9pm Friday, where they found a significant amount of narcotics, including methamphetamine and cocaine. He also had materials and an electronic scale with which to package the drugs for sale, police said.

The drugs were kept in a bedroom that Solis shares with two small children, police said.

Solis lives in the home with a family that was unaware of his illicit activities.

Solis was arrested and booked into county jail on suspicion of possession of cocaine for sale, possession of methamphetamine for sale, probation violation, all felonies; and failure to register as a narcotics offender, a misdemeanor.
